Most stores are built to sell. Ours was built to be entered. On the second floor of Union Gold Mall, Islamabad, the SHEWORKS store is where everything we write about becomes something you can hold Ajrak from Bhit Shah, block print from Karor Pacca, mirror work from Tharparkar, embroidery from Bahawalpur, hanging within arm's reach and meant to be touched. Nothing here is behind glass, because craft was never made for glass; it was made for hands. Around the garments, the space keeps moving a workshop one evening, a yoga session the next, a conversation over coffee at the craft corner because we believe a store should behave less like a shop and more like a neighbourhood. Come without a plan. Pick things up. Turn them over. Ask how they were made — the answer is always a person, a place, and a number of days. And if you leave with nothing but the smell of cloth and a story, that visit still counted.
